Meet the amazing and beautiful Sarah | Photography Workshop

Posted by with No Comments

I am excited to introduce Sarah. She will be coming to Seattle and helping with the workshop. We were introduced by our mutual friend Stephanie Beaty last year and we became fast friends. I honestly feel like I have known her my entire life. I have been helping her start her photography business and in return she has helped with the first Launch. I am so excited that she has agreed to come to Seattle, YAY!! I thought it would be fun to interview her so that you could all get to know her. Can’t wait until June!

What is a typical day in your life?
I wake up when the alarm goes off for my hubby at 7 a.m. and begin checking email. If it is a M, W or F, I head across the street at 9 for a boot camp butt kicking for an hour. I’m that crazy person who dreams of being screamed at by Jillian from The Biggest Loser… seriously! Then back home for more work. I am currently balancing two businesses, my photography and marketing/advertising for small businesses. In between working I take my fur child, Mason, for 3 or 4 walks a day when he isn’t at doggy daycare playing with his pals. It’s a rough life for him but someone has to do it. ; ) Then I am off to the grocery store to tackle the daily question of, “what should we eat for dinner?”. Best part of the day is at night cuddling on the couch between my husband and dog watching TV.

What makes you most happy?
My goal is not to make you puke, but if I have to be honest, and I am sure Stacy wants me to be… then I would have to say my husband. We are incredibly lucky to have found each other and we make sure we tell each other that all the time. 13 years together (5 of which we have been married), and counting! He is the peanut butter to my jelly! He would probably tell me not to say what I said for fear that someone would try to Jedi us because maybe they aren’t so happy in love. I don’t believe in silly superstitions. Why did I suddenly get nervous then?! Please don’t Jedi us!!

Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Business wise I see myself with two incredibly successful lines to my photography. One being my pet photography, which will be “officially” launched by the Seattle workshop, and the other being a rockin Senior portrait biz!!! So excited about both!!

What is your favorite TV show?
Absolutely impossible for me to select just one! My name is Sarah Lajevardi, and I am a TV junky. I’ll just rattle off a few. Grey’s Anatomy, Project Runway, Top Chef, Private Practice, The Biggest Loser, Flipping Out, Ugly Betty (bummed that it is canceled, always made me smile), General Hospital (holla!), Amazing Race… I could keep going and going and going.

What is your favorite drink?
Fountain coke with crushed ice, yum! Root beer follows a close second.

If you could drop everything and go anywhere in the world, where would you go and who would you take?
At the moment I am hooked on Turkey. Would love to go to Istanbul. It all started with an episode of “No Reservations” with Anthony Bourdain. The food, the sites, the culture, the food! Did I mention the food? Oh, and I would take my husband of course!

What is your earliest childhood memory?
It is faint, but I recall falling from the doorstep that led to our backyard and cracking my head open. I remember going to the hospital and getting stitches the most. I think I was 4. I am a bit clumsy. Not overly clumsy… my husband would beg to differ. I’ll admit, I’ve walked into a wall or two in my time.

Favorite place to shop?
That question is just really too vague for me. If you asked where would you shop more often if money wasn’t an issue? Then I would say Anthropologie for shiz. If you asked for one stop shopping, then hands down I would say Target.

What makes you laugh? When is the last time you belly laughed?
My husband and Stacy make me laugh the most. I love that I married someone with a sense of humor. We make each other laugh on a daily basis. Same goes for Stacy. Every time we are together we laugh. It just so happens that the last “2” times I belly laughed were with the persons mentioned above but on separate occasions. The belly laugh with my husband was when we were watching “The Hangover”, which is so seriously funny! The time with Stacy was a few weeks ago and I don’t even remember what it was about, I just remember that she got a call in the middle of our belly laugh and I am sure the guy on the other end of the phone was questioning our sanity and maturity. Oh well! Belly laughs are the best! Oh wait! I take that back! The last time I belly laughed was at the Tampa workshop when I found out what Stacy was going to name her business when she was just starting out, or had named it, I can’t recall if it was every official… but THAT was the last time I belly laughed! I will not reveal the name. If you want to find out then you will have to sign up for a future workshop.

How did you meet Stacy?
I met Stacy through a mutual friend and fellow photographer, Stephanie Beaty. Stephanie is a very near and dear childhood friend of mine. She knew that Stacy needed some help planning her first workshop and was intuitive enough to know that Stacy and I would click. That was an understatement! Meeting Stacy has been the best thing that has happened to me in the last year. It can be difficult finding new good friends, and I mean GOOD friends. It feels like I have known Stacy forever and I am so happy to have her in my life. She has been so incredibly open to sharing everything she knows about photography with me in order to make me better at what I do. As a bonus we just happen to become great friends along the way.

How excited are you for Seattle?
If you could see me now I am attempting a cartwheel to express my excitement! It’s a good thing you can’t see me because it’s not looking pretty, trust me.
